The Donation Process

The Donation process is safe, simple, and painless.

There is no risk to your or your baby. When you decide to donate, the normal birthing process and care for you and your newborn will not be affected. There is no cost to you as this is a charitable donation. If you decide to donate, the ability to collect and store your cord blood will not be affected. There are only 7 simple steps! See Below ♡

To become a donor, your baby must be delivered via C-section.

Doctor.

Speak with your doctor about your decision to donate your placenta through Tissue Resources.

Consent.

Sign a written consent giving Tissue Resources permission to recover your placenta.

Complete
Forms.

Complete a simple and confidential FDA-Required medical + social history information and paperwork.

Collection Kit.

A collection kit will be shipped to you, your healthcare professional, or the delivering hospital. Our collection kit contains everything needed to donate.

Blood Samples.

When you arrive at the hospital, a sample of your blood will be taken at the same time your routine hospital blood work is drawn. No additional needle stick is required.

The Placenta.

After you deliver, your healthcare providers will recover and prepare the placenta for transport.

Pick-Up.

The final step is to call the designated courier to schedule a pick-up.
